Mary finds that the study of the Greek classics through THE EXAMINED LIFE is a natural extension of her love of literature. A native of southern Illinois, she lives in Brewster on Cape Cod Bay. She holds a B.A. in psychology from St. Mary’s College of California and has done graduate work in study of children’s literature.  She is a long-time veteran and devotee of Children’s Literature New England. In addition, she served on the executive board of the National Children’s Book and Literacy Alliance for many years. A member of USBBY, she is currently a member of the Dorothy Briley Lecture Committee. She is an avid reader and advocate of children’s literature.
