Seminars

Saturday morning seminars provide a face to face opportunity for intellectual discussion.

A chance to meet with renowned scholars, authors, artists…

Between January and May, we gather for about five Zoom discussions featuring highly regarded classical scholars such as Mary Lefkowitz, winner of the 2006 National Humanities Medal; Jay Samons, Boston University Professor; Tony Vrame, Director of Religious Education at Hellenic College/Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Seminary; John Camp, Professor of Archaeology with the American School of Classical Studies in Athens and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Professor of Classics with Randolph-Macon College, among others.

The graduate course provides the impetus for the Study Tour that brings together teachers, scholars, and ancient and modern Greek culture in actual and illuminating views of classical sites, performances, museum visits, educational institutions, book-themed seminars, and talks on everything from early laws carved on Delphic walls to the continuity of ancient Greek cooking from past to present.

Our seminars are part of our academic program.

“Greece boasts a remarkable oral and written literary tradition, a core of philosophic wisdom, and a landscape, at once tame and incorrigible where light and darkness grace sky, earth, and sea in one of the most exquisite displays of natural beauty anywhere in the world.”

Barbara Harrison, Founder of The Examined Life
