Study Tour of Greece
From the crowning glory of the architecturally perfect Parthenon atop the Acropolis of Athens to the shining Aegean Sea, along the way we plan to visit the site of the first Olympic games, the Oracle at Delphi, the majestic fortress of Mycenae, and the ancient theater at Epidaurus and MUCH MUCH MORE!

February 13-21, 2026
Eternal Rome and Beyond

In 2026, we are introducing a pilot program to further our study of Magna Graecia — those areas of the Mediterranean once part of Ancient Greece. From February 13-21, 2026, we will explore areas around Rome significant to the ancient world. A more relaxed itinerary than our Study Tour of Greece, we’ve built in time for some personal exploration. For more information, the itinerary, and costs, please email us at exlteachgreece@gmail.com.
For those completing this program, Massachusetts PDPs are available.
About THE EXAMINED LIFE

THE EXAMINED LIFE is a professional development and graduate program. ExL offers an exciting journey to ancient and contemporary Greece through the eyes of world-class scholars. Literature, history, philosophy, art, culture, government, and politics are explored in The Iliad and The Odyssey; the tragedies of Euripides, Sophocles, and Aeschylus; the comedies of Aristophanes; the writings of Herodotus, Thucydides, and Plato.
We explore themes including democracy and the obligations of citizenship, war and peace, anger and reconciliation, the meaning of life, the ideal of heroism.
Three graduate credits or 75 Massachusetts PDPs can be earned for completing the requirements of the graduate course and study tour of Greece.
